Pontypool had three railyway station - Pontypool Road, Clarence Street and Crane Street.
Crane Street was on the Newport to Brynmawr line which closed for passengers around 1960. Part of the station building has now been used in the creation of a station on the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway which runs trains in Blaenavon. The site of the station is now occupied by Tesco's.
