Peter Sturdgess RAF WW2

This collection relates to Peter Sturdgess who today lives in Fishguard. During the latter stages of WW2 Peter served with the RAF in India and Ceylon before returning back to the UK and demob.

Peter and his wife, Rowena, became Hoteliers first in Harlech and then in Shropshire. Peter also became a Chief Flying Instructor on gliders at nearby RAF Cosford and then after moving to Fishguard for a short time was the CFI at the old RAF base in Templeton, Pembrokeshire. He finished his flying career with the Black Mountain Flying Club in Talgarth.

This collection includes an edited, written account following an audio interview (which has been agreed with Peter and his wife), and many photographs from Peter's RAF and subsequent. Also included are copies of photos and booklets from Rowena's family featuring a close relative who served in the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) during WW1.
