Cutting Edge Textiles Celebrates Laura Ashley
Cutting Edge Textile group have been celebrating the 70th anniversary of Laura Ashley during 2023 in a variety of ways. In March we visited St Fagan's Museum for a talk about Laura Ashley and at the same time viewing some of the clothes and other items that the museum holds. Group members then went on to create a Dragon Quilt with Laura Ashley vintage fabrics. The Quilt will be on display in Ty Hafan Cowbridge shop window from 18 September to 2 October. This Collection of images are from a Special Celebrations Memorabilia Day on 11 July, when members met for the last time before the summer break. Members were invited to bring along any items of Laura Ashley clothing/homeware that they still owned and they didn't disappoint. There were clothes from the late 60s up to the 1990s, beautiful homeware items, catalogues and quilts lovingly made with Laura Ashley fabrics.
