Hobbies Exhibition, Barry Rotary Club
Founded in 1937 as an all-male organisation, Barry Rotary Club has long played an active role in community life in the area. Rotary Clubs are groups that work for the benefit of their local communities and for international causes, for example through fundraising events and campaigns. The first rotary club was founded in Chicago in 1905, with the name alluding to how the meeting place tended to rotate between the various members. Today, Barry Rotary Club is based at Saint Andrews Major Golf Club in the town. In 2009, the first woman joined the Barry group and today it remains active organisation.
