Peter Hughes-Griffiths

This interviewee discusses Tryweryn and the attempt to try to sell small parts of Cwm Celyn to a huge number of people to make it more difficult for Liverpool Corporation to secure the land to create the reservoir - and the failure of that scheme. He also speaks about the Investiture and the tensions and the problems that he personally had when the Urdd and the Methodists were invited to be part of the ceremony. He discusses the 1979 Devolution campaign and the role of Gwynfor Evans. He also refers to the tendency of the establishment to promote the royal family in Wales in order to keep Welsh nationalism under control. He deplores the failure of the media often to convey a Welsh perspective.
