Rhiannon Jenkins

This interviewee remembers seeing programmes for the first time when she was a child and her mother explaining the content of those English-language programmes to her. The ways in which watching patterns have changed over time is discussed with a television set in a number of rooms by now and television not only being used to watch programmes but also as a shopping medium. She also speaks of the effect of television on her social life. She speaks of Aberfan and disasters of the sort becoming a part of every society because of television. She also talks of the shock of the 79 Referendum result and the growth in our confidence as a nation by 1997.
