Gwilym Roberts

The interviewee was raised in Llanllyfni and would go to a friend's house on Saturday to watch 'Lone Ranger'. He says that once the minister came to the house and saw around 20 children watching television, and said that they were not to watch Lone Ranger the next Saturday if they did not go to chapel on the Sunday. He went to Caernarfon on the day of the Investiture with a crowd of boys. One of them tried to throw eggs at the procession. He filmed some of the day with his small camera. He remembers hearing of the FWA on television in the months before the ceremony.He remembers watching a match at hospital, watched every game at home in the 70s usually, did not go to watch live matches. He says that the atmosphere in a pub in Cardiff during a match is electrifying.
