They kept a bed and breakfast in Caernarfon during the Investiture and the place was full of guests, friends and family watching television and going out to the garden in turn. She stayed up to watch the result of the 1997 Referendum but she does not remember much about the campaign, Gwynfor Evans winning his seat was more memorable. The launch of S4C was important to the interviewee, she watches every drama. She says familiar faces appearing on television make it more likely that she will watch. She remembers news items about the Miners' Strike, thought that the newspapers exaggerated dramatic events and went searching for them. She says that newspapers do this too but don't have as much impact as television.
