Description

Port Talbot Docks were opened in 1839 and enlarged in 1896 / 98 with the main trade at the docks being coal exports. After World War II, iron ore imports became the dominant trade goods.

Following the construction of the Tidal Harbour, the dock closed in 1972, however, it has recently re-opened for limited traffic.
