The book “40 Years of Rugby” states, “The stormy conditions of the day could not dampen the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the official opening of the Clubhouse and grounds. Clwb Rygbi Dinbych thundered to a 25-7 victory against the visiting Royal Navy XV from Scotland. Despite the heavy rain and frequent bursts of lightning, a large crowd of supporters and local dignitaries were present for this important match in our club’s history.”
