Description

A class gathered outside of Cwmystwyth Council School, probably about 1920. The Headmaster (left) is Dafydd Rhys Jones, known as Jones 'Pat'. He was born in 1877 in Patagonia and came to Wales around 1892. He had two periods as Headmaster of Cwmystwyth School - the first when it was in the Penffynnon site and the second at the new school site where this photograph was taken. He died in January 1946 and was buried at Ysbytty Ystwyth. For a full biography see the Dictionary of Welsh Biography. The woman on the right is probably Miss C. Anne Evans, Ysguborfach.
