Description

The old church building had to be demolished because it had been built on virtually no foundations. The Corporation Road Forward Movement Hall (or the Church on the corner) of Eton Road and Corporation Road in Maindee, Newport was built originally in the early 1900s as part of the 'Welsh revival' which only lasted a few years. Huge church buildings were constructed to cater for the large numbers of church goers.
In the early 1960s, a crack appeared and it was discovered that the building was unsafe.
