Description

Memorial to William Griffith, master of the EDERNIAN. On 20 August 1917 the ship was sunk by the German submarine UB 10 about 6 miles from Southwold, Suffolk, delivering steel from Middlesborough to Dieppe. The crew of 14 included Captain William Griffith and two young men from the local area.
