A fairly early map of Barry Dock, prior to the development of No 2 Dock, the Vale of Glamorgan line and the railway connection from Barry Station to the Island. The original road to the Island is shown - from Island Road, across Broad Street, under the railway lines and looping around the east end of the Old Harbour before accessing Plymouth Road by means of a bridge over the low level sidings. It does show the Lady Windsor Lock which was not built when the dock was initially opened in 1889.
