Description

Captain Griffith Jones of Nefyn, locally known as ‘Guto Pegasus’ because of his association with the schooner PEGASUS, was master of the GRENADA from 1911 to 1916. When she was attacked, he changed into ordinary seaman’s clothes to avoid being taken prisoner of war. He and his first officer safely reached Eastbourne by lifeboat.
