Description
The impressive riverside mansion of Cwm Elan, which was one of two large houses lost to the flooding of adjoining river valleys under the huge Birmingham waterworks scheme of the 1890s. Cwm Elan and nearby Nantgwyllt were both associated with the poet Shelley, who admired the wild and romantic landscape of the district.
