Description
Looking down on Llandrindod Wells from the common, this view was probably photographed in the 1890s. The popularity of the mineral waters in the area and improvements in railway services encouraged the relatively rapid growth of the town and the provision of new hotels and other accommodation for visitors. The 'new town' appearance is increased by the emptiness of the surrounding area.
