Description

Residents arranged for a group photograph outside the first Gwalia Hotel in Llandrindod Wells. This hotel, which offered billiards, a hairdressing and shaving saloon and a lending library, opened for business around 1870. A larger and grander hotel of the same name opened just over the road in 1902. The sporty looking young man at the front has a rowing club badge on his straw hat.
