Description
The cover of an undated copy of 'Mavor's First Book for Children', one of a series of early school books for young children. This title, 'Intended as an introduction to a correct knowledge of the English language', was from a school near Welshpool, but they were widely used elsewhere. Some of Mavor's educational books were published as early as 1805, and throughout much of the Victorian period.
