Description

The bridge opened on June 18th, 1932. It cost £66,000 to build. Before it was built there had been a stone toll bridge dating from 1860 and before that just a ford across the river at low tide.
When toll bridge was in use people had to get off the bus before crossing and reboard on other side of bridge.
