Description

St. Mary's Church was founded as the Priory Church of St Mary about the year 1158, and it is likely that the south side of the nave contains 12th Century masonry. The present chancel dates from the early 15th Century. The nave was extensively altered in 1702-3 and the tower was rebuilt in two phases in the early 18th Century.
