Description

The image shows the result of the damage done on the 10th November 1905 by a Mr William Arthur Smith after he was ‘drying out his dynamite’, a common practice in those days for miners who were using the dynamite to blast hard headings. Unfortunately, Mr Smith forgot about his dynamite, blowing up his house together with his wife, his two children and the lodger.
