Description

Darren farm, Cowbridge 1963
Taken from near Thorn Villa, Westgate, before the bypass and slip road were built in this area. The view is of the A48 going west, with the farm buildings on the left. The original footpath was to the left of the large tree (where Tim Edwards, who took the photo, had a tree house). The path went uphill and to the right of remains of a quarry (filled in). Its stile was different - made of 2 large stones carved in a circular shape, with an iron bar to step over, but sufficiently narrow to stop animals.
