Description

On 23 April 1918, the crew of U 91 spotted various flotsam in the Celtic Sea, including barrels of cylinder and motor oil and a large, floating lump of pure margarine. Following the successful salvage, the crew cut up the 250-pounds of hard vegetable fat with the help of copper wire before enjoying a company fry-up.
