Description
116 children, mainly aged between 7 and 11 were killed when coal tip number 7 of Merthyr Vale Colliery slid down the mountain and engulfed Pantglas Primary School in Aberfan on 21 October, 1966. 28 adults also lost their lives in the incident which changed the community of Aberfan forever.
