Description

Scientific Name: Psilocybe semilanceata
Fungi facts: The 'Magic Mushroom' is usually found in upland grasslands and more commonly on the sides of forestry tracks. It derives its nutrients from organic material in the soil. The fungus contains the toxin and hallucinogenic compound psilocybin which has a Class A; drug status the same as Heroin, LSD and Cocaine. As of 2005 It is illegal to possess or sell 'prepared or fresh' Magic mushrooms in the UK.
