Description

"During the early 1960s, it was run at different times by former boxers, Feeny John and Denis Reardon. Reardon won a boxing gold medal in the 1938 Empire Games in Sydney. I was also very interested to learn that the pub was first called the Shoulder of Mutton, where the famous 19th-century pedestrian William Gale's exploits were planned."
