Description
Scientific Name:Pholiota squarrosa
Fungi facts:A locally common species found on stumps or the bases of mainly broad-leaved trees. Both the cap and the stem are covered in brownish scales which gives it a characteristic appearance. Originally thought to be edible (taste resembling radishes) it is now considered to be poisonous especially if consumed in combination with alcohol.
