Description

In 1831, the steam packet "The Frolic" was wrecked en route from Bristol to Ireland, with heavy loss of life. The outcry finally convinced Trinity House to build two lighthouses at the site. Subsequently one was abandoned and the east light remained operating with flashing red and white sectors and a familiar sound of the foghorn which used to resonate all over the Vale of Glamorgan.
