Description

An address on the Settlement in Patagonia given by Lewis Jones to the prestigious Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, London, on 11 June 1885. In 1862, Jones and Capt. (later Sir) Love Jones-Parry were sent to Patagonia to survey the possible locations for the Welsh Settlement. They were later accused of giving too favourable a report of the land. Nevertheless Lewis Jones was to become one of the Settlement's most influential leaders.
