Description

A group of approximately 150 police officers of a 'Police Mobile Column'.
The photograph was taken at the Sennybridge (Breconshire) Army camp. These officers were taking part in a two week Civil Defence exercise that was carried out across South Wales.
The group contains representatives from all of the then thirteen separate police forces that existed in Wales.
Mobile Police Columns were spread across the whole of the UK., and consisted of mobile police teams that were capable of operating independently in the aftermath of a nuclear attack.
