‘Elderly’ couple with their mule, pictured in ‘Casiale’, Picinisco, Prov of Frosinone, Italy are Paulette Pelosi’s Great-Grandparents, Crocifissa (Gizzi) and her husband, Leonardo Di Marco. He is wearing the highly-characteristic, ‘banded; leggings (pointed uplift toes) called ‘ Ciocia’, the ancient, ethnic footwear of the colloqually described, ‘Ciociaria’ area of central Italy, home to Paulette’s family ancestors for generations.
