Description

Kevin Hawke is a keen diver and Living Seas Wales volunteer. This image is taken from his dive log and records a dive near St Brides Haven, St Brides Bay 17th May 1998. During the dive he observed a variety of marine wildlife which he describes in the "Dive Details" section of the log book (transcribed below).
Dive Details: Planned the dive - dived the plan! Nice flat calm sea, surface swam to get some depth head first decent cut across the bay diagonally to the right hand side following the rocks saw a large Plaice. Lots of Gullies etc to swim into with a variety of wildlife all about Pollok, Ballan Wrasse, Sand Eels, Snakelocks Anemone etc. Spotted a strange fish - an Eelpout after looking in Simon's book. Turned on 130 bar cut of some of the rocks back into the bay. Sent up the SMB after agreed time for Chris and the kids to know O.K. Made a mess of the SMB trying to deploy and inflate - started to go up with it. Lessons here.
