Description

Linocut print of R. S. Thomas by Paul Peter Piech.

Ronald Stuart, or R. S. Thomas, was a poet and priest in the Church in Wales who was most noted for his nationalism, spirituality and dislike of the Anglicisation of Wales. He wrote his poetry in English, but also published other works in Welsh. The landscape and people of Wales were the subject of much of his poems, with a political and spiritual subtext evident in his work.
