Mumbles Head is at the western end of Swansea Bay. Today the sea was very calm.

Today's lovely spring-like weather tempts everyone to stroll along the prom.

In-line roller skating. Swansea is in the background.

Image 4:

Mumbles pier and lifeboat station can just be seen on the horizon.

Image 5:

A family picnic on the beach — even in mid February! The broad sweep of Swansea Bay is in the background.

Skating with big sister (Image 6) and cycling with Dad (Image 7).

The entrance to the Victorian Mumbles Pier.

Image 9, 10:

Such piers enabled Victorians to imagine they were on a boat deck far out at sea. A pier also makes an excellent fishing platform (Image 10).

Image 11:

Mumbles lifeboat station. Sea mist is now almost obscuring the distant coastline.
