Name: Calfaria

Denomination: Welsh Baptist

Built: 1893

Photography: John Ball
Date: 1 October 2009
Camera: Nikon D50 digital SLR

Note:

Calfaria Baptist Chapel was built in 1893, and possibly rebuilt/modified in 1905. It was built in the Sub-Classical style with a gable-entry plan and a giant arch in the pediment, over which is a stone stringcourse inscribed CAPEL Y BEDYDDWYR ADEILADWYD 1893 [see below]. There are yellow brick dressings to the window and door openings, and to the pilasters 'supporting' the giant arch. In the centre of the pediment is a scrolled name stone inscribed CALFARIA, with a central roundel with pierced tracery. [Source: Coflein database (NPRN 9476)]
