Description
This image shows the Whitley Committee of the Orb Works. It is unknown who is in this picture. It is believed that this picture was taken at Castleford House which was the home of W R Lysaght until his death in 1945. Castleford House is now a high standard nursing home. If one looks at the architectural features of Castleford and the Institute, similarities can be seen. The photograph was donated by Orb Steelworks when it closed it's doors in 2020. It has been made possible to share this picture with thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
