Description
Dinas Mawddwy & ruins of the Plas, from Moel Benddin,1930s. This photographs probably dates from the late 1920s and shows the growth of the trees planted on Moel Dinas following its clearing during the First World war. A distinct feature is the ruins of Plas yn Dinas, burned to a shell in January 1918 when fire started in a chimney. The severe weather had frozen the fire hydrants and also prevented the Fire brigade to travel over the pass from Dolgellau. From the collection of Gwyndaf Breese.
