Description

A receipt for blotting brought from the booksellers and stationers Joyce & Sons Limited. The receipt lists Bibles, Prayer and Hymns and Leather Goods amongst the items sold by the company. The date when this receipt was made is unknown. Having been found in the same folder as the records relating to pawnbrokers A. J. Jacobs & Sons, it can be assumed the letter dates from the 1920s-1930s.

The company's address was 51 and 52 High Street, Newport. This location has since been turned into a pub (which went on to become the oldest in Newport) before it was more recently renovated into a bar and live music venue.
