Description

Obscure though the village may be, in the mid-nineteenth century Monkton was central to the Latter Day Saint / 'Mormon' cause in Pembrokeshire. Recent research shows that not only was there an active congregation here for some twenty years, but a purpose-built chapel - one of very few, as the majority of converts to the LDS church emigrated to join the main body of the church in America.
