The information of
Joseph Stockdale of Coalbrook Vale - says
that last Sunday Evening about five oclock
he was returning from his Son in law's
Isaac Davis a Fitter up who lives at Blaina
Works by the Parish Road side -he went
home along the Parish Road until he
came to Zephaniah Williams['s] House
where he saw a great number of Men
outside and inside the house.- he
went into the house and through the crowd
until he was near to Zephaniah Williams
who was standing upon a Chair where
he ^ was speaking and addressing the People
and directing them to go as soon as it was
dark up to ^ the Hill which is between
Coalbrook Vale and Ebwy Vale Works
and take with them a Weapon of some
kind or another if they could ^ if not
he wou-d try and furnish them
and when there they shou-d hear
what was to be done .
He said I hope you will be all true to
one another and meet upon the Hill:

He then went straight to Mr Brewer 's
and informed Mr T. L. Brewer
of what he had seen and heard. They were
to meet fourteen thousand on the Hill
