John Thomas , Constable Blackwood
was going to Wm James of Woodfield on
Monday morn[in]-g 4 th Novr - Saw James
Hodge on the tram road about 1/4 of a Mile
from his (Hodge's) house - he was half
walking half trotting apparently in a
great hurry - I was surprised to see him
as near as I can recollect it was about
10 O clock within quarter of an hour
before or after - I crossed the tram
road about 6 or 8 yards from him -
Knows Hodge well (for 12 years) has
no doubt of him
