prisoner Turner is the man witness won't swear it but
believes it, has no doubt, prisoner has not on the same
dress now, witness has not seen him since, knows him
by his features and looks. _______________ Call

To prove that he was about two hundred yards from the
prisoner Zephaniah Williams' house on Sunday night the
4th November, witness was coming from Nant-y-glo
and was stopped by a party who forced him into the
House of Williams - there they gave him a stick, as
large as his wrist, a great number of them were in
the house and about 300 outside the door - the
greater part were armed with fire arms and pikes -
accompanied them for about two miles to the Mountain
between Ebbw Vale and Nant-y-glo where they halted
for near three hours - there were about 2000 there -
the prisoner Williams was there he stood on a Tump
and said "Now my dear Chartists never be daunted
for we are enough to go against them all we are to
be in Newport by 2 o'clock as there are hundred
and thousands on the road which we may overtake or
they overtake us, you need not be afraid my dear Chartists
for the Soldiers are all asleep and can't hurt us - the people
answered we don't care for them we are enough to take them
all " - prisoner went on with them and witness saw them break
open houses & force the occupants out, on their way down the
Canal bank they pushed witness into the Canal - as they said
he was inclined to run away - Witness went into a house to
dry himself and remained there till 1/2 ps 6 - on his return
home he fell in with another party of armed men with
whom he went & after passing Sir Chas Morgan's Park
they met the advanced party of the Insurgents returning
from Newport they and wits returned with them - heard several
of them say the Devil should have them before Zephanh
Williams should have them with him again they also said
that the Soldiers were shooting them down & one who appeared
to be wounded said the Ball had passed thro' his arm. _____ Call
