Turn the Water. He was
in the Employ of Sir Chas

& smith I remember last
Monday week 4 Novr
bet-n 6 & 7 o'clock in the mor-g
I was going toward Pie Corner
I met a person on the Top going
to his work - He said there
is going to be a great row
that mor-g I said I did
not care about it
I went on & saw the Prisoner
with a net on his back
and a … [*] in his Hand
going a fishing I suppose
going towards Bassaleg

He had seen them passing his
House all the night He never
saw such a thing. I said some
of us had better go down to Tredegar
to inform them of it. He said
he had been by the water &
coming back had informed
Addams (Sir Chas Morgans Gamekeeper)
of it - I said if he wod stop
a few minutes I would
come back to him & talk more
about it - He did not stop
but went towards Bassaleg
& I saw him
afterwards near the
Church at Bassaleg. The same
morn-g when the people were
still coming down the road
towards Newport. The Prisr lives
at Pie Corner.
