Tredegar November 27th 1839

Sir
Mr Homan is still from home nor
have I had the least communication from
him since his departure but thinking
it might be essential I have seen the
persons named in your letter and have
collected the following information which
varies in nothing to that which you are al-
ready in possession of -

Isaac Williams (the Doctor)
does not know whether Frost or Zephaniah
Williams attended at Dukes Town since
the 12th of August nor at Black wood since
Whitsuntide but saw him at the Blaina
about two months since Isaac Williams
does not know whether the Brick man of
Rhymney attended at Dukes Town he
does not even know the man.

Joseph Taylor (Woodwards Boy)
had been drinking with Harris at the Globe
when David Jones the Tinker seized him
by the collar and ordered another man who
carried a Pike to catch Harris they drove
them before them to Crumlin David Jones
left them at Sirhowy by the Bridge the
last time he saw Jones was at Corty bella
where he pushed a man off his horse with
his Gun it was a Team and the man
was on the fore horse Taylor does not re-
member whether Jones had Gun at Sirhowy
on the Sunday Night but he carried something
in his hand.

Harris
did not himself say he saw David Jones
at the Westgate but his Uncle John Southall
had been told that Jones urged the Men
at the Westgate to go forwards whilst he
with his Gun was stooping down and creeping
back.

Harris and Taylor endeavoured
to run away several times but could not
they went no farther than a stone cutters
on Stow Hill-
