William Jones ^I live at Blaina
in the parish of Aberystruth Monmouth
I reside in a House as a Lodger
with John Evans of the same
place & Laborer. I remember
Sunday 3rd Novr last 6 weeks
ago next Sunday I was at home
that day It was my turn to work
at night I was going to work
at 12 O clock to the Forge I work
for Messrs Brown & Co at the
Blaina & Cwm Celyn Company
________________at Pontymister
I had got to the Forge ^ I saw
many Men laying about
the Fire. It was very wet
it rained Shocking I did not
know one in the Forge
they made me go with them they
had Swords Guns and Pikes
I went with them they went
into Houses & forced people
out of their Houses

gave his name as Isaac
Phillips when we were at
School together I saw him
by Jno Harry s' door at Pont
y Mister . I went on to Chas
Harris s' Door. He went into
Chas Harris's and brought a
Butchers Cleaver. I said to leave
it alone. He sd in your Eyes
If you say much

Several times to get away
but could not I saw the
Prisr in Sir Chas Morgan's
Park when they had a stand
there He had got in his
Hand a sword I asked him

House at Pont-y -Mister he had it
in the Park I can swear to it
We stopd at the Welsh Oak The people
were in the fields guarding us
so that we could not get away
The sword was a short one
it had a piece of Brass around
the Handle as a guard
