MONMOUTH,
TO WIT.
To William Edmunds of the aforesaid and Joseph Davies of the
parish of Bedwellty in the County of Monmouth .
[in right hand margin :- 18 ]
Whereas information have been made before me
the undersigned, one of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace acting in and for
the said County, That you and each of you
are material and necessary witnesses
to be Examined touching a certain Charge
of High Treason and Sedition Committed
by John Frost, Zephaniah Williams
and others against our Sovereign Lady
the Queen her Crown and Dignity.
These are therefore to require you William Edmunds and
Joseph Davies and each of you personally to appear before me or such other
of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace as shall be present at the Petty Sessions,
to be held at the Westgate Inn at Newport
in the said County, on Wednesday the fourth
day of December at ten o'clock in the forenoon, then
and there to answer to & such questions
as shall be asked you touching the said charge
Herein fail not.
Given under my Hand and Seal, this third day of
December in the year of our Lord, 1839
