Description

Italian cafes were once as integral to Welsh culture as were rugby clubs, chapels and coal mines. Around 300 Italian cafes once served the eager population of the industrial south, but today only a few of the originals remain. Huw Meredydd Roberts embarked on a project to document, in photographs, some of the remaining few. Here’s an opportunity to see a selection of the photos, hear the stories behind them and to reminisce about your favourite Italian cafes.
