Description
These photographs were sent to us by Yvonne Redmond of her grandmother, Elsie Mary Pickup (nee Preece), who was in the Women's Land Army. Yvonne said: "My nan Elsie Mary Pickup nee Preece was in the Land Army. She was born in 1898 ( Salop) in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
She did claim to know the singer Gracie Fields, during her time in the Land Army. But i don't know much more of her time there. And she did make a slip of a reference to being some sort of team/group leader as well. But again not sure."
