Description

Preseli Heartlands Project spent two days in the Newport community, collaborating with the Welsh Place Name Society. The aim was to begin to collect local names, and to raise awareness of the importance of recording and safeguarding place names as part of our cultural heritage here in Wales. The names collected will be added to a digital map, that will be available to view by the public in the future. Many thanks to Rhian Parry, Ifor Williams and Prof. David Thorne of the Society.
